  • Anxiety is a very normal human emotion that we get. Most people are going to experience this emotion at some point in their life. 
  • However, if you are a person that is having this fear all the time, then you could have an anxiety disorder, and that is not normal. 
  • When you are having anxiety problems, you may feel very nervous or anxious all the time. These problems can be brought about by problems at work or just by simply talking to someone of the opposite sex. 
  • When your anxiety starts interfering with living a normal life, then it moves from anxiety to an anxiety disorder. However, there are ways that you can deal with the mental illness.

Stress is the most common cause of anxiety leading to release of adrenaline. However, there may be other physical problems too that can be termed as causes of anxiety.

  • Diet pills can alter the normal functioning of body and be a cause of anxiety.
  • Anemia can also cause anxiety as the deficiency of nutritive substances like folic acid and vitamins hamper the normal body functioning.
  • Diabetes is one of the major causes of anxiety.
  • Hypoglycemia or an abnormally low level of sugar in the blood, also is a cause of anxiety.
Symptoms
  • Now we are going to talk about a few of the symptoms that you should look out for that could be warning signs that you have an anxiety disorder. 
  • Do keep in mind that unless you are having these feelings all the time, then you more than likely do not have an anxiety disorder. 
  • If you just have these from time to time, then you are experiencing normal anxiety, which everyone feels. The things to look out for could be feelings of panic or uneasiness. 
  • You may have obsessive thoughts that you can not let go of. Having flashbacks about traumatic experiences or nightmares about it.
  • A lot of people who have anxiety disorders also have a hard time sleeping, become short of breath, and have dry mouth. 
  • Some more physical things that you may have to deal with would be dizziness, nausea, and even muscle tension.
Diagnosis
  • Since anxiety is a mental disorder, it is a little bit harder to diagnosis than other problems that you can have with your body. 
  • Most of the time, your doctor is going to start off by asking you questions about your family and medical history. 
  • From there, you will be given lab tests that are geared towards looking for anxiety disorders. 
  • If your doctor does not find anything wrong, then most of the time, you will be sent to a psychologist for further tests and evaluations. 
  • After all, if you have an anxiety disorder, then you will want to find it right away for treatment.
Home remedies for Anxiety
  • Coffee and Tea – Anxiety and caffeine, found in coffee and tea, do not usually mix well. Caffeine works as a nervous system stimulant that may cause nervousness and sensations of impending doom but a moderate amount of coffee taken may stir up the senses. Just limit your intake of caffeinated beverages.
  • Water therapy – Also known as hydrotherapy, this technique pushes the increase in water intake to relieve the discomforts of anxiety. Experts say that a well-hydrated body help boosts the functioning of hormones preventing disorders like anxiety, restlessness, and depression.
  • Vitamin B1 to B12, Magnesium and Calcium – Deficiencies in vitamin b complexes, magnesium and calcium can increase risk of vulnerability to anxiety attacks. B-complex vitamins help keep the nervous system healthy and in proper working condition. Magnesium helps the body feel less tensed and stressed. Calcium is important for transmitting impulses throughout the nervous system. For these reasons, it is important that a diet rich in these essential vitamins and minerals should be taken.
  • Meditation and Deep Breathing - Learn basic deep breathing techniques from some yoga expert or try it yourself by inhaling for longer than normal, hold the breath for a couple of second and then exhale it. Meditation can also be tried to sooth nerves.
  • Avoiding Junk Foods and Drinks - Refined Sugar and Carbohydrates, artificial sweeteners, caffeine, smoking and such other things should also be avoided to get rid of anxiety. 
  • Bathe – Sinking into a warm tub of water can greatly help ease anxiety. It helps relieve tense muscles, promoting a relaxing feeling.
  • Exercise – Letting out excess adrenaline through exercising – taking a walk or doing yoga – is the most effective anxiety remedy. It helps burn off that extra adrenaline.
